Drum Cauldron

Taiko Drums could be thought of as cauldrons of sound.
This is Korean Drum Master
Eitetsu Hayashi playing a Taiko Drum. Taiko translates in Korean to "Great Drum". In ancient times the Taiko Drum was used as weather warning and for marching into battle. In the 1950's Taiko drumming was transformed into a performance art. Several of the Columbus Women's Drum Chorus attended a Taiko Drum Workshop taught by Eric Payton at Capital University in Bexley Ohio. Eric Paton also a member of Yumbambe a Jazz Salza Group. We are looking forward to working with Eric again and learning this Martial Art Drum Form.
