Finished Silver Buttons

I finished the first ten coin buttons yesterday. They will look beautiful on practically any clothing I can think of! I purchased 8 more from eBay last week and am anxious to make some more. The two Liberty Head coin buttons are already spoken for in a barter. As you can see the liberty heads are very prominent and visible. I won't be making many of these as concealment is part of the goal. If our society melts down as quickly as some perceive, there will be much famine and unrest. There will be much desperation. Paper money may not have any value at all in a Peak Oil crisis situation. Silver is a safe bet for future commerce. Silver is climbing as the dollar is losing value.

Virtually every aspect of our society is dependent on oil. It is probable that we will be running out of oil in the next 10 years, possibly even sooner. So far there is nothing to replace it with. Even if we switch to coal, it would require more oil to mine it. Society as we know it is in deep trouble. We need to prepare for long periods of time without power. We need to plant gardens and stockpile water. We can live without electricity, but we can not live without water. It saddens me that I may have to trade silver for clean water someday in the near future!

These silver buttons while very beautiful in appearance, represent a deeper not so beautiful truth. Someday wealth may need to be hidden. I am preparing for a peak oil situation. If you haven't looked at the Peak Oil website please do so. The slogan for Peak Oil is "Deal with reality, or reality will deal with you" I will be taking orders for these little buttons in the next few months. Contact me if you are interested in purchasing any of them or the supplies to make your own. Even if there is endless supplies of oil and the Peak Oil crisis is a hoax, these little buttons are fabulous. They are hand made in America.
