Scratch That Idea
I decided to scratch the idea of the "floating stone" in my belt buckle. It seems that I got overlay, inlay, and underlay decisions and options. After years of moving and unpacking, tearing down, setting up...some projects just remain unfinished. My medicine wheel was such a project. Yesterday, I did the final cutting of the inlay for that piece. Then I glued the pieces in place. Today, I will grind, cut, and polish the outside edge. I finished the beeded necklace that goes with this piece. I started "the real deal medicine wheel" in 1998. It was a personal amulet to ward off bad and evil doctors who would harm me for the sake of their moneitary gain. That is why I call this piece the REAL DEAL MEDICINE WHEEL. I hope to have it finished by my Pearl Market gig on June 7th 10:30-2:00 downtown Columbus. I hope to see you there.
post script: In case you are wondering...some of the turquoise in these pieces are real. Some are stablilized turquoise. Can you tell which ones contain real turquoise, and which do not?
