Blogroll Me!On NPR this morning the story of the latest idea for sealing up the oil "spill" is filling the hole with a mixture of golf balls and shredded tires. So now in addition to all the other heinous substances that are spewing into the Gulf Of Mexico we are going to add more oil based toxic substances! Maybe it is time to stop thinking that technology will save us. You gotta wonder after our civilization is extinct and the next civilization tries to make heads or tails of what we left at the bottom of the sea: future archeologists will scratch their heads and wonder what sort of meaning can be read from two strange looking metal boxes, hundreds of tires and a million golf balls covering up a metal straw with three holes in it. Maybe they will think it is just primitive art!
