I Had To Get This Right
I have this friend that actually believes the Beatles lyric....All You Need Is Love...Love Is All You Need. Me....I am not so sure. In order to do the project...I played Beatles 24/7 when I worked on it. I was doing love ornaments for another family. I finished today....as the 24/7 non stop Beatles finished Magical Mystery Torr.
Now I couldn't have made that happen....not unless I did research online. I wasn't willing to do that shortcut . Since I happen to have all the Beatles all times....I just wanted to play them in sequence till I came to this passage. I ended up finishing today as that song was coming on. I sure wish I can do all the rest of the things I have dreamed up.

When The Cats Away
Syd went out a bunch yesterday. I had decided to set up a quick solder session while he was outside. Everything about silversmithing is dangerous to cats. The flux, the pickle solution, the fire. The space he has occupied this winter by the window, is my soldering area. We were OK while I was painting. There is not enough light in my kitchen these days to paint in the mornings. Soldering silver works better in a dark room, so until I can get my landlord to change some bulbs, I am going to just have to use low light for metal, and the afternoons when there is days end light in my kitchen....I will paint. I imagined there would be a day that the weather was so nice, that I could open up windows to ventilate while I soldered. It was almost that nice yesterday. I look forward to finishing these feathers, leaves and key pendant in the next couple weeks. The hard part is done.

Sunday Blog
Sometime in the next few weeks I will be launching a new line of jewelry that focuses on my Native American ancestry. This is at the suggestion of my friend Eve who has a knack for marketing ideas. You can see that I have sprinkled in jewelry with a Native American twist all along from this photo that I took almost 3 years ago when I was living on Deming Ave. with Lori. Perhaps I can get the Ohio Arts Council to give me a grant so that I can hire a photographer to take post card quality pictures of my recent and former work. There has been little time to write grants and such as I have been moving (3 times since my last grant), and concentrating on other art. I like to think that after all I have been through in the last year that I can concentrate fully on my art. I am composing this on Saturday to be posted on Sunday as the library is closed on Sunday. Hopefully, I will get back here to post a more complete photo of the quilt Monday.

Metal Shop
I set my workshop up yesterday and am busy making feathers today for the Flint Ridge giftshop! While living in Frazeysburg I made some important contacts that are paying off now. I have always thought my feathers would sell at Flint Ridge as it was and is an ancient gathering place. I am told that people from all over the world sign the guest book there. I am also anxious to start my metal quilt project and an initial key for my friend Brenda. First things first as they say. I will do what I have materials for and then buy what I need for the next projects.

Back To Work
Time too get back to the workbench while the weather is nice. This is the next step in my friend Brenda's project. I will solder the bezel to the back piece, then I will cut around it with my jewelers saw. The stone is not shown in this picture. It is a beautiful piece of Rhodocrosite that I cut two springs ago for Lori. I am glad it is going to someone who will appreciate it.

Higher Ground
I am blogging from the library today. Even though I am on a hill, my basement is flooding. I am gonna do my darnedest to try to find a safe place to store my machines and tools till my landlord can get this situation corrected. I bought them (tools, and equipment) with 2 inheritances. The system doesn't recognize my hobby, and the system has the disabled do what they call a "spend down" when there is inheritance. So basically I lost the longer I held onto my inheritance. I was penalized for saving it. I had to spend it as quickly as I could so as not to interrupt the services that I had to work so hard to get in the first place. As you might imagine, I would never have moved my most valuable possessions into jeopardy if I didn't have the landlords word that I would have a dry basement for my workshop.
