Ebay Auctions Set Back In Motion

It has been awhile since I tried to sell on eBay.  As an experiment, I launched an auction yesterday afternoon for one of the last pieces of pottery I made since my kiln was destroyed.  I should have added a ruler in the picture to help the prospective customer see the size.  I should have included my business card sticking out of the clay pot.  I should have ironed the bandana that I used to cover up the dirty tree stump in front of my best light window (where Syd often sits).  Lots of "shoulds" to consider for next time.  My friend Louise always said "shoulds don't come from the Universe".  I started the book on Perryton.  The dedication of the book is to Doris Barrick who conceived the book in the first place.  It will be hard to write it without being able to ask her stuff.  She died a couple years ago when I was living at my sister's house out in Frazeysburg.  She would be tickled that I am tackling this project.  I will be willing though to turn the project over to some other writer that actually loves and lives in the town.  I see Perryton Ohio as a town in collapse.  More on that later dear readers.  I hope you are getting out into some of this sunshine.  Syd and I are.

The Men Who Stare At Goats

I am checking out a movie today from the library that promises to be a good distraction. The Men Who Stare At Goats is the name.  Not that I need a distraction.  My life is pretty good now that I have escaped from the evil ones!  I am reminded though that evil is always lurking about, and comes out sideways sometimes.  It is not surprising in the least that the U.S. Military would try to use New Age techniques to give themselves a boost in terms of warfare.  I am reminded that even Hitler manipulated the occult for his purposes, and some of those prisoners of war were brought to this country, given new identities and bank accounts to perpetuate our own interests in mind control..  It is hard to imagine how such a subject could be remotely funny, but I am willing to give it my best shot.

3 Blue Bowls

I got to visit my Grandmother who is 90 this Memorial weekend. While I was in the area I returned a borrowed book and visited my friend DD. Here are 3 bowls that nest "somewhat" that I gave to my friend DD last Christmas. These were my first attempt at doing a "series" of bowls, and I forgot to take a photo of them way back then.

DD's flower garden in the background enhances these glaze colors. I took notes on these bowls when I made them. But unfortunately these stock glazes have been discontinued by The Cultural Arts Center.

All is not lost though, because I am at a new place that has little restriction on experimentation. And I will have to experiment again in order to come up with something similar to the aqua that is on the inside and the royal blue on the outside. It is doubtful though that I will ever come up with the exact formula, or the exact firing conditions and variables that created these 3 bowls.
