A couple years ago, I was a member of SOFA (Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil). I would love to renew my membership. The day that I went to Troy to experience a Saturday open forge, this fellow did a demo on how to make a replica of the spoon and fork from the Civil War era. I guess the modern version of this would be the spork. I look forward to locating a friend of mine who is a local blacksmith. Robert (my blacksmith friend) and I were college friends. I had no idea that since that time, he became a smith!
