Farrell's Pool Hall
In my recent wanderings I have come across many picturesque potential backdrops. This one reminds me of some of the backdrops that Bonie Bolen has done for Tradfest and Columbus Blues Festivals in the past. This old building called Farrell's Pool Hall is located on 2nd Street in Frazeysburg Ohio 5 miles south of my sisters house. In it's day, "the pool hall" was a thriving small business and community hub. It was a place where teenagers could hang out and try their skills at a game that requires both physical and mental skill. Replaced in most places by internet cafe's, fast food joints, and so called skill games businesses, this spot reminds us of a slower lifestyle that may make a comeback in future times when cheap oil tempers industrial endless growth, and people just need a place to hang out and interact in person. No doubt this area is rich with these historical gems. I look forward to discovering some of them and hopefully uncovering some good story's to go with them.
Post Script: Thanks to Sheila Murry for the correct spelling of Farrell's
