I found a really neat 1 bedroom apartment (log cabin) near my sister. I may take it for a year. It certainly would be dryer and of course I would look closely at the contract. Syd is not welcome....so I would be looking to find someone to take him for a year. Still though...it is a nice place for a nice price...and the people are willing to work with me. I am excited.
Why would you even consider a place where Syd is not welcome. That is not fair to him...or you since you love him so, and he is your companion. If he isn't welcome, the place is not fit for you. Don't play with his unconditional love for you and give him away. A year is too long and the harm lasts a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to talk these people into allowing him. I believe they were talking about dogs...I have been diligently searching since May and this is the best place I can find so far. I may even be able to take Stubby. I talked with my neighbor about it last night and Stubby is a troublemaker among the cat colony. Neutering him did not make much of a difference. I don't think you understand how little income I have to work with. If I have to take this place it is in my budget. I have people that will love my cats in my absence. This is not my fault. Promises were made last year and they have been broken. I am just working with the hand I have been dealt. I can't afford a $400 a month apartment. If you can find one... that is $350 or less where I can take Syd...let me know.I spend 4 hours a day searching.
ReplyDeleteIf you can take Syd AND Stubby to the log cabin, that would be a perfect place for you. The owner must be made aware of your circumstances, ie: low income, one or two cats that are your FAMILY, and constant companion. I am of the opinion, (and everyone has one) that you don't just sell off a child when you move to a three bedroom house, when you have 4 kids, which might be one too many for the owner. You look elsewhere. I understand your $$ situation. I too am on fixed income. However, there are limits to my standards of human acceptance by others (most landlords understand pets as family members). Please make the owner of the cabin aware of your need and he/she might turn out to be "human" afterall. You won't have room for your studio there, so that's another hardship for you there, unless you plan to use the shed you said was there as your total workshop. Can you run electric to it?
ReplyDeleteI think I can squeeze my workshope into the shed. I will probably have to run 2 50 foot extension cords out to it. I think I can make this work. It is very cozy and I will be able to lose the 250 pound weight that has been a burden to me since last fall when the first flooding started happening. I will be happy to get my stuff to dry ground. And happy to get away from evilness.
